AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees) is a union comprised of a diverse group of people who share a common commitment to public service. The purpose of the Municipal Employees’ Federation shall be to improve the wages, hours and working conditions of its members; to promote their intellectual, social, and economic welfare; and to represent its membership in disputes with their employers.
